On this day in 1793, the French government officially opened the Paris Louvre as a museum for the public.

9th of November

The big fire in Boston in 1872 destroyed more than 1000 buildings and killed 14 people.

10th of November

Neatherland officially gave up New Amsterdam to England in 1674, after that they renamed it New York.

11th of November

In 1951 the American inventors John Mullin and Wayne Johnson demonstrated the first video recorder.

12th of November

In 1982 after the death of Leonid Brezhnev, Yuri Vladimirovich Andropov became the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee.
