19th of April 

On this day in 1713, the emperor Charles VI. issued the Pragmatic sanction. This document was very important because it allowed his only daughter Maria Theresa to become a new Bohemian queen. This step was unprecedent as the usual successor used to be the oldest male descendent of the family. She was the only queen in Bohemian history.

20th of April

In 1841 the famous writer and novelist Edgar Allan Poe published the story The Murders in the Rue Morgue which is considered the first detective story that has ever been written.

21st of April

According to the Roman tradition in the year 753 B.C. the city Rome was founded.

22nd of April 

On this date in 1370, the construction of the infamous prison Bastila began. This prison was used till the year 1789 when during the Great French Revolution was destroyed.

23rd of April

On 23rd of April in 2005 the first video on YouTube was released. This video’s name is “Me in the zoo” and you can still watch it.
